Reading journal
The one in the back is my Reading Journal. That's where I keep track of all the books I have read in the year. There's a calendar where I write the name of the book the day I start reading, and then in the lined pages I glue photos of the covers, and I write the titles, authors, and a short paragraph of what I thought of the book. Having this tracker has been great because it helps me remember past stories that otherwise I might forget! I have read so many good books this year, and I can't wait to see what other beautiful stories I find next.
Daily journal
The journal in the front is where I write about my days. On the left I have a very minimal schedule where I only note the errands, events, appointments, etc, anything that is outside the house. Then on the right I write about my day, what I did, how I felt.
It would be great if I did this every day when my memory is fresh, but sometimes I don't find the time, and so I'm left with a few blank days that now I have to fill. That's when a daily journal gets annoying. And I know I don't HAVE to fill them, but I've been doing it for the whole year, I can't stop now!
So it becomes tedious at times. But when I flip through the pages and see all the entries filled out, and remember things that happened months ago, it feels so good. So complete. And watching the photos that I added also makes me smile and feel good that I stuck to it the whole year.
Next year
For next year, I'm not sure yet what type of journal I will have. (I'm kind of late, aren't I!?) But I know I won't have one where I have to write multiple paragraphs every single day. It just stresses me out. I would rather write where something more important happens, or when I'm feeling a specific way and I want to rant about it.
So we'll see what I choose in the end. I do have a few empty notebooks, a very cute planner that my sister brought me from New York, and a few other journals that I want to try. I plan to write about them here later on and probably make videos for my YouTube channel, so stick around!
